Goldsmith artist's work

Welcome back after a long break.

Our workshop has undergone a major reorganization. Many things have changed and new departments have appeared to meet the needs of our customers.
Due to all the tornado that has gone through our company, many things have changed and even more new projects and ideas have emerged.
In the meantime, a design for the exhibition organized in Lithuania was created in our workshop.
The exhibition referred to global problems related to environmental pollution. Polluted air, acid rain and destruction of priceless monuments are a global effect that the world is struggling with. We have created a miniature, symbolic picture of the world in which we live.

The work was based on teak wood.

The picture shows the Jama Masjid mosque in Delhi. Delhi is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Pollution has a fatal impact on the condition of this priceless monument. The image of the mosque was created from amber and silver. The sky above the mosque reflects the enamel in filigree cells.
In our vision, we decided to protect the monument by covering it with a natural dimensions anti-smog mask. The same as people wear, so as not to inhale poisonous dust. Is it possible, however, for such a mask to protect the devastating mosque? Maybe at least in the minds of people ...

The mask was made of forged silver, while the filigree filling.

The technique of implementation is very labor-intensive, but the final effects are the reason for our undisguised pride.

Wystawa nawiązywała do globalnych problemów dotyczących zanieczyszczenia środowiska naturalnego.
Zanieczyszczone powietrze, kwaśne deszcze i destrukcja bezcennych zabytków to efekt globalny z jakim zmaga się dzisiejszy Świat.
Stworzyliśmy miniaturowy, symboliczny obraz Świata w jakim przyszło nam żyć.

Praca została osadzona na podstawie z drewna teakowego.
Obrazek przedstawia meczet Jama Masjid w Delhi. Obraz meczetu został stworzony z bursztynu i srebra. Niebo nad meczetem odzwierciedla emalia w komórkach z filigranu.
W naszej wizji postanowiliśmy chronić zabytek zakrywając go maską przeciwsmogową naturalnych wymiarów.

Ocena techniczna okiem eksperta

Engagement ring in white gold

Quite recently, for one of our clients, we made an engagement ring in white gold with a stone with a beautiful white and blue color.
We started as usual from the selection of the composition of the alloy

After casting, according to our philosophy, gold was properly forged.
The gold leaving our studio is always gold forged. There is no place for any compromises here. Machining is carried out with the smallest accuracy and all products are subjected to mechanoscopic assessment for possible errors and cracks

After the forging process, the shape of the ring was formed, which was then welded on our new welding machine

Technical assessment by an expert eye

After the final treatment and initial polishing, the stone was set and covered

The ring after the final machining and polishing obtained the intended effect

* We do not have the owner's permission to disclose the type of stone used

Lesedi La Rona May Once Have Been 2,774ct.

The second-largest diamond in history was probably twice as big before it broke into pieces, researchers at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) have claimed.

Similarities between the 1,109-carat Lesedi La Rona, the 812-carat Constellation and three other stones suggest they were all one large piece of rough weighing at least 2,774 carats before volcanic eruptions or mining processes split them up, the GIA said this week.

Lucara Diamond Corp., which discovered all five diamonds at its Karowe mine in Botswana in November 2015, had already claimed that one of them, a 374-carat stone, was once attached to the Lesedi La Rona. The GIA last year studied three of the other stones — the Constellation, as well as diamonds weighing 296 carats and 183 carats — and speculated that they were also from the same rough.

The theory was strengthened after the GIA gained access to faceted diamonds from the Lesedi La Rona and the 374-carat stone earlier this year, Dr. Ulrika D’Haenens-Johansson, a senior research scientist at the GIA, told Rapaport News Wednesday.

The five diamonds had similar visual characteristics in their rough form, and came from the same part of the Karowe mine at the same time. They also gave results under close gemological analysis that were so similar that it’s unlikely they were unrelated, Dr. D’Haenens-Johansson said. The nature of some of the stones’ surfaces also suggested they had become detached from each other.

“After the 2017 study, all we could do was speculate that all five stones were from the same rough,” she added. “After having the opportunity to examine all five stones in 2018, we are able to reach stronger conclusions. It is probable that there are other unaccounted pieces that would have been part of this historic rough.”

Lucara CEO Eira Thomas said the company had no reason to disagree with the GIA’s findings. Evidence indicates the larger stone broke up both because of natural effects and being knocked around during the recovery process, Thomas noted.

The company used X-ray transmission (XRT) technology to help it recover the five large diamonds. It has since installed additional XRT equipment at Karowe to ensure it unearths exceptional stones as early as possible in the process.

D’Haenens-Johansson presented the findings at the GIA’s International Gemological Symposium in Carlsbad, California, in October, and published a summary in the Fall 2018 issue of Gems & Gemology, the institute’s quarterly journal. The institute is preparing a full, peer-reviewed article in a forthcoming edition of the publication.

Lucara sold the 374-carat diamond to Graff for $17.5 million in May 2017, and subsequently sold the Lesedi La Rona to the same company for $53 million in September of that year. Graff recently unveiled several polished diamonds it had cut from the 1,109-carat rough.

The Constellation went for $63.1 million in 2016 to a partnership comprising Dubai-based Nemesis International and Swiss jeweler De Grisogono.

D'Haenens-Johansson przedstawił wyniki swoich badań na Międzynarodowym Sympozjum Gemologicznym GIA w Carlsbad w Kalifornii w październiku i opublikował podsumowanie w jesiennym wydaniu czasopisma "Gems & Gemology" w 2018 roku.

Konstelacja została sprzedana za 63,1 miliona dolarów w 2016 roku spółce w skład której weszli Dubai Nemesis International i szwajcarski jubiler De Grisogono.

Popular bullion coins - Bahar Azadi

Bahar Azadi coin weighs 8.13g and has a diameter of 22mm.

Minted by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Bahar Azadi gold coin was first issued in 1979 following the Iranian Revolution when it replaced the Pahlavi coin.
The name of the coin roughly translates to “The Spring of Freedom” and signifies the freedom from the monarchy that followed the revolution.
The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran was founded in 1960 and immediately renamed following the revolution (to comprise the existing name and add the Islamic Republic of Iran into its official title).
The currency in Iran is the Rial and it is issued in the form of banknotes and coins. The government in Iran is the sole authority with the right to issue currency.

Depending on when they were minted (pre- or post-1989) these Islamic gold coins feature different designs.
Those minted before 1989 feature a geometric design on the reverse and a mosque on the front. You’ll also see ‘The Central bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran’ and ‘Bahar Azadi’ written in calligraphic script on the front.
For coins produced after 1989, the design was changed to memorialise Ruhollah Khomeini – an Iranian Shia Muslim, the leader of the Iranian Revolution and the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran – who died in June 1989. Following his death, the design on the front remained similar to that used previously, whilst the design on the reverse was changed completely to show Ruhollah Khomeini’s face.

11ct. Purple to Lead Alrosa Hong Kong Sale

An 11-carat diamond will feature in Alrosa’s inaugural auction of colored polished diamonds at the upcoming Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.

The cushion-cut, fancy-deep-purple-pink stone (pictured) — which will lead the sale — is the largest diamond of its color the GIA has graded, Alrosa said Tuesday.

The miner will present 250 polished diamonds of various shapes and colors at the auction, which it has named “True Colour.” They will include a vivid-orangey-yellow diamond weighing more than 15 carats, and a cushion-shaped, 11-carat, fancy-vivid yellow. The Hong Kong show runs from September 12 to 16.

“It took more than a year to prepare the collection,” said Alrosa CEO Yury Okoemov. “It is a masterpiece of diamond production created by skillful professionals who put heart into their work, keep the traditions, and know what a real ‘Russian cut’ is.”

Alrosa will use the sale as a step toward its goal of expanding further into the colored-diamond market, Okoemov added.

The miner will sell the collection through a special electronic platform, which it used previously to sell large stones, it said. After the initial sale, the company will hold a regular auction for its polished stones once or twice a year.

Starting this year, the miner has been sorting its colored rough diamonds into 19 color categories, and polishes most of them in its in-house manufacturing division.

Lucapa’s Mothae Mine Yields 89ct. Yellow

Lucapa Diamond Company has recovered an 89-carat yellow rough diamond from its Mothae mine in Lesotho, it said Friday.

The miner found the stone during bulk sampling in the asset’s southeast zone. The diamond is not part of the miner’s original forecast for the Mothae resource, it said.

“Having recently recovered a 25-carat yellow diamond from the previously untested neck zone in our bulk-sampling program, we are tremendously encouraged that this 89-carat diamond was recovered from the southeast zone, an area of the Mothae kimberlite pipe where there has been very limited historical testing,” said Stephen Wetherall, Lucapa’s managing director.

Lucapa bought 70% of Mothae in 2017, with the Lesotho government holding the remaining shares.

Pozostałe diamenty to
- kwadratowo-różowaty, 1,29-karatowy,
- fantazyjnie żywy, purpurowo-różowy Argyle Maestro;
- w kształcie księżniczki, 1,57-karatowy,
- fantazyjnego ciemno-fioletowego Argyle Alchemy;
- Argyle Odyssey, okrągły, olśniewający, fantazyjny intensywny różowy kamień o masie 2,08 karata;
- promienny Argyle Mira, o czerwonej karnacji 1,12 karata.

Rio Tinto to Sell Largest Argyle Vivid Pink

Rio Tinto will offer a 3.14-carat, vivid pink diamond at its 2018 tender, the largest stone of its color in the history of the annual sales event.

The emerald-cut Argyle Alpha (pictured, third from left) is one of 63 rare pink, red and violet diamonds — weighing a combined 51.48 carats — featuring in this year’s Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender. It is part of a collection of six “hero” diamonds the miner will offer at the sale.

“Rio Tinto’s Argyle mine is the world’s only source of these highly coveted pink, red and violet diamonds, and we expect considerable interest in this year’s collection,” Rio Tinto CEO Jean-Sébastien Jacques said Thursday. “The combination of strong demand and extremely limited world supply continues to support significant value appreciation for Argyle pink diamonds.”

This year’s tender, which the company has called Magnificent Argyle, also includes the Argyle Muse, an oval-cut, 2.28-carat stone, which is the largest purplish-red diamond ever offered at the tender, and came from a 7.39-carat rough. A second diamond, cut from the same stone, will also be up for sale.

The other hero diamonds include the square-radiant-shaped, 1.29-carat, fancy vivid purplish-pink Argyle Maestro; the princess-shaped, 1.57-carat, fancy dark grey-violet Argyle Alchemy; the Argyle Odyssey, a round brilliant, fancy intense pink stone weighing 2.08 carats; and the radiant-shaped Argyle Mira, a 1.12-carat fancy red.

Rio Tinto will unveil the gems at a world exclusive preview in Sydney, and will also showcase them in Hong Kong and New York. Bidding for the diamonds closes on October 10.

The company held its first Argyle Pink Diamond Tender in 1984.

Popular bullion coins - Gold Britannia

Like other gold bullion coins, they sell for a small premium above the live spot price of gold to cover the costs of production and packaging.
The current year, full 1oz versions of the coins are exempt from VAT and Capital Gains Tax (CGT), offering an added incentive for buyers in the UK.

Britannia gold coins are typically bought by either investors or collectors.
Investors buy them for their quality and value. With the worth of a Britannia coin relating directly to the live price of gold they have the potential to increase in value based on this alone.
As gold has a strong track record of holding its value even in times of economic downturn, it is popular with investors looking to diversify their portfolio. Gold coins play a role in this.
Coin collectors also buy Britannia coins to add to their collections. Collectors have pursued gold coins for decades, seeking Britannia gold coins for sale in all the various designs, years and weights available.

Britannia is a fictional character and the female embodiment of Britain. She adorned the coins of Roman emperors and has featured on every British monarch’s coinage since the 17th century.

Popular bullion coins - Gold Sovereign

The gold Sovereign coin was first struck over 500 years ago in 1489 and is one of the oldest coins still being produced today. Named to honour the king, it has been a symbol of status and strength ever since.
The gold Sovereign coin is internationally recognised. During the 19th century it was classed as legal tender in more than 20 countries.
Struck from 916.7 fine gold, modern Sovereigns feature celebrated engraver Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St. George and the Dragon design, which first appeared on the coin in 1817 and still endures today, 200 years later.

The weight and quality of the British gold Sovereign’s 22 carat gold is verified at the Trial of the Pyx, an independent trial that dates back to at least 1282. The quality of the gold is also guaranteed to five decimal places by the 1974 Coinage Act.
Many collectors buy gold Sovereigns because of both their quality and their prominence in the history of British coinage.
They’re also very popular amongst investors who wish to store their capital in gold, a precious metal that is well-known for holding its value over time.

Available as a half Sovereign, a full Sovereign and tubes of 25, you can buy these sought-after gold coins from various different years.
To celebrate 200 years of the modern Sovereign, The Royal Mint has released a special, commemorative edition in 2017. It features the original St. George and the Dragon design with the addition of a mint mark that acknowledges its 200th anniversary.
